Forrest D. Wright
Forrest D. Wright, 64, Shawnee, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, in a local hospital.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Roesch Funeral Chapel with Bill Matthews, pastor of Liberty Baptist Church, officiating.
Wright was born Feb. 4, 1925 in Beaver, Okla. He graduated from Sayre High School and attended Sayre Junior College. He entered the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant, retiring on Aug. 1, 1970. He served for over 26 years and was in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Service. He returned to Shawnee where he worked for Sears for 10 years; Ambler Construction at Chandler; and was a bailiff for the Pottawatomie County District Court until this past year.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Boston and Elizabeth Wright; his wife, Helen Wright; a sister, Beryle Slimp; and four brothers, Virgil, Howard, Cleo and Erschell Wright.
Survivors include two sisters, Ruby Register and Opal York, both of California, and several nieces and nephews.
