Letcher L. Giffin, 82, retired farmer of Princeville, passed away in the Parkhill Nursing Home in Chillicothe June 30. He had been a patient there since January 11, 1966.
He was born April 20, 1885, in Capon Bridge, W. Va., the son of Robert and Fannie Barrett Giffin. He married Jessie Worsfold January 2, 1915. She passed away in 1948. In February, 1950, he married Ada Gill in Winchester, Va., and she survives.
Also surviving are one son, Glen Giffin of Edelstein, one daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Nellie) Schaad of Princeville, two grandsons, Robert Lynn Giffin, in the US Navy and David Edward Giffin, in the US Army, one great-grandson, Todd Giffin, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Gladys Whitacre of Goer, Va., and Miss Beulah Gill of Capon Bridge, W. Va., and a brother, Arthur Giffin, of Niles, Ohio.
Funeral services were held in the Bouton Memorial Home with Rev. Robert Spencer of the Princeville Presbyterian Church in charge.
Burial was in the Princeville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harvey Smith, David Stahl, Charles Fry, Walter Wieland, and Herman and David Rickert.
