Clifford Brown, Jr. age 91, of Quincy died on Monday, April 4, 2022 in Good Samaritan Home. Cliff was born in Quincy on June 14, 1930, a son of Clifford Owen Brown, Sr. and Mary (Bliven) Brown. Cliff first married Donna M. Hitch on October 15, 1949, and together they had their three children, Joyce, Carol and Richard. He later married Dorothy Adair on November 24, 1967, and she preceded him in death on October 17, 2016.

Cliff worked as a machinist for over forty years at Gardner-Denver Compressor Division. After his retirement, he drove for Poage Auto. Cliff served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. In August of 2014, he and his son Rich participated in the Great River Honor Flight.

He attended the Crossing at 48th & Maine in Quincy. Cliff loved music and singing. From a young age he and his mom sang hymns together, a favorite was "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be".

Cliff was a lifelong sports fan; he avidly followed the San Francisco Giants. In his younger years he played baseball, horseshoes and participated in league bowling.

Survivors include: THREE CHILDREN, Joyce Johnsen and her husband Brad of St. Charles, IL; Carol Foster and her husband Don of Lakewood, IL; and Richard Brown and his wife Cindy of Schaumburg, IL.

GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Derek and Reed Johnsen: Claire, Emily, Brooke and Zachery Johnsen; Ashley and Brandon Foster; Gavin and April Nielsen; Shawna, Logan, Riley, Autumn and Talon Brown; Caden and Aubrey Brown; Finley Brown; Carter and Hailey Cumblad.

TWO SISTERS: Dorothy Miller of Arkansas and Pearl Coultas of Quincy. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive and his two favorite Maltese girls, Angel and Alaina.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, wives, Donna (Hitch) Brown Dittmer and Dorothy (Adair) Miller Brown, and siblings, Faye Huddleston, Elmer Brown, David Brown, Sylvia Furniss, Harold Brown, Leona Mellon and Gladys Mellon.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Inurnment at Quincy Memorial Park will take place later. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Great River Honor Flight, 531 Hampshire St., Quincy, IL 62301-2954. Duker & Haugh FH.
