PIQUA -- Albert A. Boyd, 79, of Piqua and formerly of St. Paris, passed away Saturday, May 14, at 4:35 p.m. in the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.
He was born March 11, 1926, in Urbana, the son of the late Otte Russell and Eula Mae (Copas) Boyd. He married Mary Catherine Beck Jan. 29, 1949, and she survives.
He also is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert N. and Evelyn Boyd of Piqua; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Shirley and Harold Perry of Troy, Anita and Carl Lundford of Piqua, Cynthia A. Boyd of Piqua, Rhoda J. Boyd and fiance Ronald J. Horn of Christiansburg, and Sheila Boyd of Piqua; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by two brothers and sisters-in- law, Thomas and Edna Boyd of Vermillion and Richard and Margaret Boyd off Elyria; and one sister, Eva Ahlena Downs of Elyria.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and a brother-in-law.
Mr. Boyd was the owner of Boyd's Welding in St. Paris. He was formerly employed by Shelby Manufacturing and Copeland Corporation of Sidney as well as Decker's in Piqua.
He was an avid fisherman.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Richeson-Wickham and Atkins Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield St., in St. Paris.
There will be no funeral services.
Burial will be in Upper Honey Creek Cemetery, near St. Paris, at the convenience of the family.
