Reba Jane Royall Steele was born one of four children of Clarence McNeil "Mack" Royall and Virginia Marie Isaac Royall in Surry County, North Carolina on June 15, 1926. Her siblings were Dayton Clyde Royall, Imogene "Jeanie" Royall Bryan, and James Dwight Royall.
On March 23, 1946 she married George Raymond Carey, Jr. in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. After their divorce Reba married a Mr. Steele in Nevada on September 17, 1966.
In 2003 at about age 77, Reba passed away in El Cajon, San Diego County, California. She was cremated and her ashes spread in the Blue Ridge area of North Carolina.
