Beloved wife of the late Harry Parks Bond. Loving daughter of the late Norvin Alfred Gaulden and Minna Pearl Freeman. Dearest sister of the late Freeman (Freida) Gaulden and the late Norvin Alfred (Rhea) Gaulden Jr. Proud aunt of Dennis (Judy) Gaulden, Norvin (Mona) Gaulden, Nadine Gauldin and JoAnn (Robert) Kutas. Also survived by great nieces & nephews, great great nieces, cousins and many dear friends. 60 year resident of Washington Twp. Postal Employee of Washington, MI for 23 years and member of many historic preservation and lineage socities, including the Washington Historical Society; John Crawford, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution; Colonial Dames of the 17th Century; Bars and Stripes, Daughters of the Confederate Union.Virginia E. Gaulden Bond, 93, a 60-year resident of Washington Township, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, in Shelby Township. She was born Oct. 18, 1914, in Somerset, Ky.

Mrs. Gaulden Bond worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Washington Township for 23 years and was a member of many historical preservation societies including serving as former chapter regent of the Daughters of American Revolution.
She traced her ancestors back to Jamestown in 1607.
Her great-great-grandfathers fought against each other in the Civil War.

She was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and she enjoyed hunting and fishing with her brothers.

Mrs. Gaulden Bond is survived by her nieces and nephews, Dennis (Judy) Gaulden, Norvin (Mona) Gaulden, Nadine Gaulden and JoAnn (Robert) Kutas; and many great-nieces and -nephews, great-great-nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry P. Bond; and siblings, Freeman (Freida) Gaulden and N.A. (Rhea) Gaulden.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Washington, 58774 Van Dyke Ave. (north of 26 Mile Road), Washington Township.

Interment will be in Crestwood Memorial, Grand Blanc.

Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Sunday at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, 54880 Van Dyke Ave. (at 25 Mile Road), Shelby Township. Additional visitation is 9:30-10 a.m. Monday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Historial Society.
