Eleanor Becerra, age 94, of Council Bluffs, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Risen Son.
Eleanor was born August 10, 1921, in Sheridan, Wyo., to Pedro and Carmen (Gonzales) Flores. She was united in marriage to Brigido Becerra in 1936. Eleanor worked many years as a Seamstress for Nebraska Clothing and Landons as well as out of her home. She was a longtime member of Holy Family Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Brigido, on March 26, 1981; sons, Danny, Mario, Rudy, Johnny, and Raul "Ralph" Becerra; grandchildren, Jared Hunt, Mario Becerra III, Jose Caballero; sister, Eloise; and brother, Liberty.
Eleanor is survived by her children; daughters, Rachel (Jim) Simmons, of Council Bluffs, Henrietta Caballero, of Omaha, Neb., Brigida Winans, of St. Joe, Mo., Cecilia Baker and Sonia Howell; sons, Gilbert "Goobie" Becerra, all of Council Bluffs, and Richard Becerra, Sr., of Omaha; 36 grandchildren, 91 great grandchildren, 59 great great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Joyce Becerra, of Council Bluffs, Danna Becerra, of Omaha; sisters, Eva Rodriguez, of Omaha, Esther Nuno, Dolores Becerra, all of Council Bluffs, Mary Negrete, Della Graf, all of Omaha, Eleanor (Jim) Farrar, of Blue Island, Ill.; brother, Tom (Judy) Dominguez, of Council Bluffs; many nieces and nephews.
Rosary recitation Monday, 6 p.m., followed by visitation until 8 p.m., at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., Corpus Christi-Holy Family Church. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery followed by a luncheon back at Holy Family. Family will direct memorials.
