John married Martha Henrietta "Etta" Watkins August 3, 1904 in Van Buren Co, Arkansas, the couple being residents of Lexington, Arkansas at that time. Etta was the daughter of Henry Franklin Watkins and Mary Catherine Davis. John and Etta's children were Nellie Lea (Eoff) Lowrance, Bessie (Eoff) Lowrance, William Virgil Eoff, Vernon Eoff and Essie Gladys (Eoff) Wagner.
