Lavern A. Graham, age 89, of Houston, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Lavern was born March 14, 1933 in Stanton, Texas to Annie Mae and Cecil Payne. The oldest of two children, Lavern and her brother Clifford grew up in several West Texas towns. Lavern met the love of her life and future husband Truman Graham. They were married on June 6, 1953 and had two sons, Phillip and Glenn. Lavern was an amazing Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Artist, Mentor and Leader. She loved the Lord and served Him and His Church for her entire life. She served in many leadership roles for her Church. She also was an accomplished artist and loved to volunteer at NewSpring teaching art to children. Lavern was preceded in death by her husband, father and mother. Lavern is survived by her brother Clifford and his wife Peggy, loving sons and daughter-in-law Vicki, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her infectious love for life, the Lord, and everyone she met will be greatly missed by all. A visitation for Lavern will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A funeral will occur Monday, March 28, 2022, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Grace Community Church, 1021 Campbell Rd, Houston, TX 77055.
