KILLED IN TRUCK ACCIDENT.
An auto truck driven by Meredith Fitzgerald, of Valparaiso, went over an embankment, making two revolutions, and pinioned him in the shallow water of Salt Creek, within that city. Death ensued by drowning, according to the verdict of the coroner. A woman residing near, witnessed the accident, but before the aids she summoned were able to release him life had fled. His right leg was broken, the worst injury of the fall. He was 26 years of age and leaves a widow and one child.
The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Fitzgerald, (or Jarrels,) living on the John Bauer place, west of town; and a brother, Oscar, attends the Westville school.
There was a military funeral Sunday afternoon at the M. E. church in Valparaiso. Mr. Fitzgerald having served with distinction with the colors in France.
