George Anthony Drebing passed away on March 25, 2022, after a long and valiant fight with Parkinson's. He was born the son of Marjorie and George Drebing, Sr. on June 12, 1928, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

When school days were over at Albuquerque High School, George joined the Army as a young man during the Korean War and served from 1950 to 1952. On his return from military duties as a Master Sergeant, he was employed at Galles Chevrolet and American Toyota for many years.

After retirement, he and his wife traveled throughout the US and to many countries in Europe. Even though he was a homebody at heart, he always enjoyed his travels. He was a long-time supporter of UNM athletics, especially men's basketball, and an ardent fan of the Dallas Cowboys. George was a quiet, kind, and humble man who loved life and never had a harsh word against anyone.

He was a wonderful husband and father who adored his grandchildren and they loved him and his calm demeanor. Many enjoyable times were spent with them in the outdoors, hiking, fishing, boating, and sledding. Special and memorable days were frequent pastimes with family at the mountain cabin near Chama. He lived life to the fullest and he will never be forgotten for his love and kindness.

George was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Stagnone; and son, John Drebing; and his parents, Marjorie and George Drebing.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carmen; his son, Mark and daughter-in-law, Stephanie; two granddaughters, Taylor Noya (Nestor) and Danielle Drebing (Tony); four grandsons, Tyler, Connor (Mika), Graham, and Nolan Drebing; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Pallbearers: Taylor Noya, Connor Drebing, Graham Drebing, and Nolan Drebing.
