Gus proudly worked at the Oldsmobile division of General Motors for 27 years as a District Manager-Sales. He was a member of the Monroe, Louisiana Police Reserve and a member of their combat handgun team for 11 years. Gus loved to shoot and to teach shooting, especially skeet shooting as a volunteer instructor at Bend of the River Gun Club.
His favorite pastime was to tease all that knew him, particularly his family and friends. Gus had a love for animals, especially cats, and is remembered for rescuing and offering his lap and his heart to many strays. Proud of his country, Gus was in the US Navy Reserves for six years. Most of all, Gus was a family man.
