"Ellis Chester Cockrell, 95, of 4109 N. Walrond, died Monday at the home. He was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Cockrell was a bookkeeper at the Stockyard Farmers Store for more than 40 years before he retired in 1958. He was a member of the Winnwood Baptist Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Pearl Cockrell of the home; two half-brothers, Harry Borgmier of Hamilton, Mo., and Lewis Borgmier of Lawson, Mo.; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Ethel Trayler of Lawson and Mrs. Mabel Teegarden of Raymore in Cass County. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Newcomer White Chapel; burial in White Chapel Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, March 18, 1981
