"Adelene E. Battin, 78, North Kansas City, died July 29, 1987, in Holmesdale Convalescent Center, 8039 Holmes Road. She was born in Dalton, Mo., and had lived in North Kansas City since 1947. Mrs. Battin was a sales clerk for Harzfelds before she retired in 1972. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of North Kansas City. She was a member of the Northlane Chapter of the American Business Women's Association. Survivors include a daughter, RaeDene Furnish of Kansas City; two brothers, Roy Sasse of Kansas City and Charles Sasse of Saratoga, Wyo.; two sisters, Lena Zimmerman of St Louis and Kathryn Province of Kansas City; and two grand-children. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Newcomer's North Kansas City Chapel; burial in White Chapel Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, July 31, 1987
