B. Michael Bass, 70, of Chester, VA peacefully passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022 after a 2 ½ year battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis aka Lou Gehrig's Disease). Michael was preceded in death by his father, Billy Bass; and infant brother, Mark Bass.

Michael grew up in Colonial Heights, VA and graduated from Ferrum College. Michael was a great multi-sport athlete, having played football, baseball, basketball, softball and golf. He was the proud quarterback at Colonial Heights High School and Ferrum College. Michael had many fond memories of his days as a Colonial and a Panther and enjoyed reminiscing with his former teammates. Michael worked in the Spruance Division of Dupont in the Richmond, VA area. While at Dupont, Michael played softball for the company and traveled throughout the country to play other divisions of the company. Michael retired early from Dupont at age 58 and was very blessed to have 10 years of healthy retirement. Michael loved playing golf at various courses throughout Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
