Mazie L. Kitselman, 87, of Springfield went to live with our Lord on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 following a brief illness at Hearth and Home in Springfield, where she received loving, wonderful care from the staff. Mazie was born October 14, 1919 in Tazewell, Tennessee the daughter of John D. and Cordelia (Carpenter) McNeil. Mazie was a wonderful Beauty Shop Operator for many, many years and loved all her customers. She would do anything for them as well as for her own family. Mazie attended First Christian Church for over forty blessed years. First Christian Church was ever so faithful to visit Mazie, share God's word, and have communion, as we know that every act of serving is a gift to God, working together with one heart and mind and purpose. A special friend Bonnie Snow as well as Pastor John Wilson were there bringing happiness. Mazie loved good Gospel music, and several of her favorites were "Blessed Assurance" and "There Is Power In The Blood". She liked scriptures John 14:1-9 and Romans 8:36-39. She is survived by many nieces and nephews including Roger Kitselman and Deborah Harkins of Springfield, Heather Harkins of Fairborn and Justin Harkins of Simi Valley, California; a special brother-in-law and wonderful friend William Jordan of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd F. Kitselman in 2005. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM. in RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with her longtime friend John Wilson officiating. The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Champaign County at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Kennard, Ohio. The family would like to thank Dr. Darr and his staff, and to Community/Mercy Hospice for their wonderful care in keeping Mazie comfortable during her final days.
