N. M. Duncan who suffered a second stroke of paralysis recently, died last Saturday morning at the home of J. L. Hailey on Live Oak street. Last June, while living in Jacksonville, Mr. Duncan suffered a stroke of paralysis, and since that time had been confined to his bed. He was brought here several weeks ago.
Mr. Duncan was born in Robeson County, North Carolina, July 31, 1863. He is survived by his widow and a daughter, two sisters and a brother. Mrs. C. J. Jackson of Fayetteville, N. C., Mrs. M. N. Culbreth of Ryanham, N. C., and Jacob Duncan of North Carolina.
He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and the Woodsmen, and the local branches of these orders furnished the pallbearers for the funeral. The funeral services were held at the Trinity church of which he was a member, Saturday afternoon, with the pastor, Rev. J. J. Treadwell officiating. Interment was made in the Hawks Park cemetery.
