The family had crossed the Great Plains with the William Budge Wagon Company of LDS Church members arriving in Salt Lake Valley 5 October 1860.
They settled at what was known as Kays' Ward, which would later be incorporated into Kaysville City. He was born there that winter and died the following year.
Family record indicate he is buried near his mother.
