Durham, North Carolina - Marie Mitchell Moses, 95, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 at Pettigrew Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Durham, the daughter of the late Archie Mitchell, Sr. and Rosa Lee Everett Mitchell. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Grover Moses; step-mother, Lois Greene Mitchell; children, Douglas Moses (Karen), Danny Moses (Tammie Ward, Susan Moses); siblings, William Mitchell, Christine Bishop, Rosa Lee Taylor, Archie Mitchell, Jr., James Mitchell, Jean Belle Chase, Jimmy Mitchell, Janie Pearl Bradburn, and Ronald Mitchell.
Marie Moses was a beloved member of Shady Grove Church since 1964. She was Grandma Moses to everyone who entered the doors. Always ready with a hug and an "I Love You'. Having 38 years of service, Mrs. Moses retired from American Tobacco Company as a Machine Operator.
Mrs. Moses is survived by her son; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and four siblings.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18th at Clements Funeral Home in Durham. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19th at Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in her name to a charity of your choosing. Also to share with others the love and joy you have received from her through the years.
