Lawrence Aston Hodges, 64, of Princeton died Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at his residence. Born June 20, 1957 in Kegley, WV he was the son of the late Bonnie and Eva Hodges. Lawrence was a devoted Christian. He was strong in his faith and dedicated to his church. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. One of his greatest passions was taking his grandson fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Buster Hodges; and one sister, Edna Mae King. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Melinda Thompson Hodges; two sons, Lawrence "Pee Wee" Hodges, Jr. of Kegley, and Shaun Hodges and wife Bethany of Bluefield; one daughter, Kelly Hodges and fiancé Claude Roland of Princeton; nine grandchildren, Jordan Hall, David Rose, Alexis Hodges, Cody Hodges, Patrick Hodges, Hunter Hodges, James Roland, Ava Roland, and Lydia Roland; one brother, Johnny Hodges and wife Debbie of Princeton; two sisters, Faye Bailey of Rock, and Effie Cardwell and husband Paul of Rock; brother-in-law, John Thompson, Jr. and wife Angela of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Lawrence's wishes he will be cremated.
