ALCIDE C. CANTARA, 85, of Oaklawn Avenue, a retired construction foreman, died Tuesday in Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence.
He was the husband of Clara (Santucci) Cantara, and the late Eileen (Fahey) Cantara.
Born in West Warwick, a son of the late Euclid and Rose (Bouley) Cantara, he had lived in Pawtucket and Rumford before moving to Cranston in 1982.
Mr. Cantara worked for the J.L. Marshall & Son Construction Co. as a supervisor and foreman for 40 years, retiring in 1979.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a life member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, and a member of the Sons of Italy.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, two stepsons, a brother, three sisters* and two granddaughters.
He was the brother of the late Viola Tanguay**.
