Following her death she was temporarily placed in a receiving vault until directions were received by her son, the 6th Earl of Carnarvon. She was removed from the receiving vault on 21 May 1969 and her remains were cremated. Her cremated remains were spread on the grounds of the Highclere estate. A memorial tablet, or cenotaph, was placed in the Church of Saint Michael and All Angels.
