Ted Maier, 73, 424 N. School St., Lodi, died Friday in a local hospital following a short illness. He was born in Russia and moved to Elgin, N.D. with his family when he was 7-years-old, where he attended school. In 1930, Maier moved to Lodi and operated a service station for 15 years. Following that he owned and operated a liquor store at 15 W. Pine St. from 1946 until 1967 when he retired. He married the former Lorine Krause in 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Maier was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
In addition to Maier's widow, surviving are a son, James Maier of Sacramento; and a sister, Mrs. Pauline Gartner of Underwood, N.D.
