George Edwin Harrison, Jr., 98, husband of the late Idella Morrow Harrison, passed away March 15, 2022.
A native of Greer, son of the late George Edwin Harrison, Sr. and Carrie Harrison, he was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of WWII, owner and operator of Harrison Auto Parts, and a member of Greer First Baptist Church. Mr. Harrison loved his buddies at Back Home Café and enjoyed having his fried chicken and banana pudding at the Clock every week. He knew just about everyone in town and never spoke an unkind word about anyone. He was independent until the end.
Surviving is his daughter, Kimberly Boland (Charles) of Chapin; four grandchildren, Grant Harrison, Michelle Harrison Hickum, Hal Boland (Angie), and Mercy Floyd (Keith); nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and special friend, Roger Reeves.
Mr. Harrison was predeceased by a son, Reg Harrison and was the last surviving of six brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2022, at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Mrs. Dottie Bryson.
Pallbearers will be Grant Harrison, Nathan Harrison, Ryan Hickum, John Stevenson, Jason Rampey, and Hal Harrison.
