MRS. SCHMALFELDT

Mrs Charles Schmalfeldt, a well known resident of this city, died at the Agatha hospital in Clinton Wednesday noon at 12 50 o clock, following an operation which took place one week ago last Monday The funeral arrangements have not as yet been made and will be announced later

Mrs. Schmalfeldt was formerly Miss Bessie Birt of this city [Sterling, IL] and was born May 30, 1888 near Ustick Ill She received her early education in the schools of that vicinity About eight years ago she moved to this city with her mother and one year later was married to Charles Schmalfeldt, the marriage taking place on June 21 [1905] at the home of the deceased In this city she had many friends and her demise will be mourned by many

The deceased leaves to mourn her death, her husband, two children Albert Henry and Bessie Marie of this city, her mother, Mrs Alfred Birt of York, Neb one sister, Mrs Harvey Buell and a brother, John Birt of Sterling, Ill
