Billie Ray Anderson, son of WT (Bill) and Bertha (Smith) Anderson, entered this world on January 14, 1930, at home on the family farm southwest of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. Billie left pain and the burdens of this world behind, after living a long and successful life, and entered his heavenly home on February 2, 2022, at the age of 92 years, 2 weeks and 5 days.
Billie attended Soldier Spring Country School south of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, through the 8th grade, where he was the only one in his class for those 8 years. He went on to attend Lone Wolf High School where he graduated in 1947.
On March 14, 1951, Billie was drafted into the Army. He served for 18 months in Korea and was honorably discharged on December 13, 1952. Billie served in the 2nd Infantry Division, 38th field Artillery as Seargent and was very proud of his service to his country and had many stories to tell of his time there.
After returning home from the Army, Billie married the love of his life, Patricia Mary (Helen) Perez, on November 6, 1953, in Mangum, Oklahoma. He and Helen made their home around Lone Wolf and he lived there for the remainder of his life. Their love for and devotion to each other was exceptional and an example to all who knew them.
Billie was a carpenter all his life and owned Anderson Construction Co. for more than fifty years. He was also a farmer and rancher and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Billie served on the Lone Wolf School board for many years and was an active member of the Lone Wolf First Baptist Church.
Billie and Helen were known to be hospitable and welcomed numerous nieces and nephews into their home over the years treating them as their own.
Playing games was a pastime that Billie loved (and was known to be very competitive). Dominos, 42, Rook and Wahoo were among the games he enjoyed and he was very hard to beat at Dominos. He also enjoyed playing Garbage with his great-grands.
Billie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Lois Staggs and her husband, Mack; a brother, Donald; an infant sister; a son-in-law, Ed White; three nephews, Danny Anderson, Russell Anderson and Darrell Staggs; infant granddaughter Mindy Anderson; and grandson-in-law, Jesse Moorehead.
Billie is survived by his two daughters, Teresa Hanlin and husband Bruce, of Lone Wolf, and Vickey White of Lone Wolf; one son, Tommy Anderson and wife Anita of Weatherford, OK; grandchildren, Nikkie Burnett and husband Ty, Luke Hanlin and wife Chelsea, Jeremey White, Joshua White, Melissa White, Brandi McAdams, Jessica Kimble and husband Chris, Kirby Anderson and Travis Anderson; twenty great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. He will be missed greatly by all whose lives he touched.
