James LeRoy Phillips was born on March 14, 1928 in Coshocton, Ohio to his parents, Lee and Blanche (LeMonte) Phillips. He worked in the Steel Industry as a steel worker. Jim served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He belonged to the the V.F.W in Winnsboro, Texas, V.F.W Post in Antioch, California and the American Legion #110 in Bullhead City, Arizona. He also served on the Antioch Police Department Reserves. He belonged to the Church of Christ in Washougal, Washington. Jim loved Western movies and spending time with his family.

At age 93 years, on Thursday, June 10, 2021, Jim passed away in Battle Ground, Washington. He was a resident of Battle Ground, Washington for 27 years.

Jim was survived by his daughters, Julie and Joyce, and son, Steve; 7 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren;10 great-great grandchildren; and many other who will miss his smile and laugh. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; 9 sisters.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brown's Funeral Home in Camas, Washington.

Jim was cremated and some ashes were put in a niche in Oak View at a family service on September 17, 2021. Other ashes will be taken to Ohio at a later date.
