Carolyn Dear passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at her home in Richland. She was 82 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, March 16th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. There will be a Graveside service at Florence City Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
Mrs. Dear was born November 28, 1939 in Harrisville, MS to the late G.B. and Ruth Ainsworth. She lived her whole life in Richland, MS and was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church. She loved her Family dearly and was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going on family vacations and loved Elvis.
Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her daughter and her sister, Mary Catherine Dumas.
She is survived by her sons, Jonathan (Karen) Dear of Raleigh, NC, Jeffrey Dear of Atlanta, GA and Joseph G. Dear of Richland, MS; sister, Esther Richardson of Harrisville; grandchildren, Matthew Dear, Josh Dear, Monica Dear, and Sophie Dear; and numerous great grandchildren.
