MELROSE, Wis. — Duane G. Boldon, 84, Melrose and R. 4, Black River Falls, died Saturday, April 9, 1988, in his house in Black River Falls.

He was born Sept. 28, 1903 in the town of North Bend, Rusk County, to Alphuis and Elizabeth (McCracken) Boldon.

He married Arvilla Amanda Lemke June 14, 1928, in Reinbeck, Iowa.

Boldon had worked as a metalurgist for the A. O. Smith Corp., Milwaukee, before retiring 16 years ago, when he and his wife moved to the Melrose area.

Survivors are his wife of Melrose; a daughter, LeRose Surowiec of Black River Falls; two grandsons; a great-grandson; and two sisters, Ada Schneiders and Agnes Stockberger, both of Canton, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ron Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery. Friends may call at Smith Mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may also call at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
