Michael Frederick Anderson, age 74 passed away on 9 March 2022 at home in Woodbridge, Virginia. He is survived by his wife Sandra of 54 years, two sons, Michael and wife Teresa; Andy and wife Dianna; two granddaughters, Amber and husband Ricky Bobbitte, Chelsea and two great grandchildren Raegan Nicole, and Easton Lee. In addition, he is survived by six brothers and sisters: Roy Anderson, Diane Sprouse, Johnny Anderson, Eva Sue Anderson, James Anderson and Patty Rouse. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Preston and Virginia Anderson; sisters Faith Lee Sprouse and Mary Massie; brothers Donald "Duck" Anderson, Richard "Goot" Anderson, William "Beaver" Anderson and Glenn "Keet" Anderson.

Michael was a life-long resident of Prince William County and loved to go to country music dances. He enjoyed gardening and loved raising animals. He was born 19 May 1947 on Joplin Road in Triangle, VA. He was the sixth of thirteen children. He graduated from Gar-Field Senior High School in 1967 and later that year in December of 1967 was drafted in the U.S. Army and was sent to Vietnam in May of 1968; two weeks after his marriage to his high school sweetheart Sandra Alexander. While in Vietnam he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for distinguishing himself by outstandingly meritorious service in connection with military operations against hostile forces in the Republic of Vietnam. Upon his return from Vietnam, he was stationed in the Tank Unit at Ft. Meade, Maryland. After an honorable discharge from the Army, he went to work as a civilian employee at Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia where he worked for 27 years and retired as a Painter in 1997.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, VA where viewing will be at 10:00 immediately followed by funeral services at 12:00. Interment will follow at Abel Cemetery in Triangle, VA.
