Bobby Clayton Ashmore, age 76, of Taylor, Texas, passed away on March 3, 2022.

Bobby was born in Victoria, Texas, on February 10, 1946, to Arthur Clayton and Juanita (Bownds) Ashmore. He was the oldest of seven siblings.

The best word to describe Bobby is a Marine. He proudly served in the Marine Corps for for 14 years from 1963 to 1977. He served three tours in Vietnam and would have gone on a fourth had they let him. Bobby lived and breathed the Marine Corps; this was his proudest accomplishment other than his children and grandchildren.

Bobby worked as a truck driver. He loved the open road and traveled to many places all over the country. He would always come home with a bag full of stuffed animals for his children. He enjoyed having a cup of coffee and visiting with friends up at Ferrari's in Taylor. He had a good sense of humor but was also stern. Anyone that knew Bobby knew of his love for the Marine Corps, the outdoors, and his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Juanita Ashmore.

Bobby is survived by his children, Angela (Clay) Laake, Theresa (Eric) Evans, Catherine (Joe) Boyle, David "Duker" (Evelyn) Ashmore, and Ashley (Thomas) Oliver, and his grandchildren, Travis Laake, Sarah Laake, Jimmy Reeder, David Reeder, Jacob Reeder, Madison Masters, Jordan Masters, Loralei Boyle, Jameson Boyle, Zachary Ashmore, Avrie Ashmore, Sawyer Oliver, and Camden Oliver.

The family will have a private service at a later date.
