Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Sloan Austin, 45, who died at a local hospital Friday night, June 9, 1950 after a long illness, will be held at the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Dr. Earl P. Paulk will officiate, assisted by the Rev. A.A. Meng, and interment will be in Reedy River Baptist Church Cemetery.
The following will serve as pallbearers: William E. McCreight, Charlie Hughes, Milton Hughes, Harold Hughes, Eddie Sloan and Charles Barrett.
Mrs. Austin was born in Spartanburg County, a daughter of James H. Sloan and the late Mrs. Sallie Hayes Sloan. The greater part of her life was spent in Greenville County. She lived in Simpsonville for 15 years and came to Greenville about 25 years ago. She also lived at the home with her brother, Clarence O. Sloan on the Anderson Road for a number of years.
