Clifford Harold Snyder Jr., 76, of Kokomo, IN, passed away peacefully March 9, 2022. Cliff was born on February 15th, 1946, to Clifford and Gayle (Swope) Snyder in Peru, Indiana.

Cliff graduated from Manchester college in 1968 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and earned his M.S. in Elementary Education from St. Francis University. A true teacher at heart and a natural in the classroom, "Mr. Snyder" was an elementary teacher at M.S.D of Wabash County for two years. He taught at Western Intermediate School for 43 more years and spent 26 summers teaching driver's education. He treasured his years at Western Intermediate School where he guided and loved his fifth-grade students, encouraging them to think beyond their homework.

He married Jan Bitner in 1995, at Chapel Hill Christian Church, where they are members.

"Life is a Journey and Love Gives it Meaning." Cliff was a great example of the unconditional love of his Savior, Jesus Christ and truly had a servant's heart. Cliff had an infectious smile and a joyous spirit. He had a way of always making everyone feel special. Cliff was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.

It is undeniable that he deeply loved Jan and would do anything for her. He cared for his sons and daughter unconditionally and was always there to help anytime there was a need. "Papa" was always happy spending time with his grandsons, even recently reprising his role of driving instructor with them.

Raised in rural Cass County, Cliff's love of farm life continued even into retirement. He enjoyed researching tractors and farm equipment and going to tractor shows. Cliff also enjoyed reading, watching sports, vegetable gardening, photography, and classic cars. Cliff had a talent for landscaping and spent many hours landscaping for family members.

He is survived by his wife, Jan Snyder; a brother, Gene Snyder, of Fort Wayne; his children, Aaron (Marcie) Snyder, Adam Snyder, Sarah (Craig) Swoverland, John Bitner; and his grandsons, Ari and Ian Swoverland.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John A. Snyder and by the mother of his children, Carol (Chumney) Snyder.
