He grew up in Elkhart, Indiana, and was a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington. Bob retired after 37 years from the New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation and also taught evening GED classes for many years. He was a member of the National Education Association and Retired Indiana Teachers. Bob had a special interest in science and computers and was incredibly proud of the family and home of 50 years that he built.
Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth (Naville) Blessing; sons, Robert Blessing III and Christopher Blessing (Sarah); siblings, Richard Blessing (Ann), Ron Blessing (Kathy), Debbie Oberloh (Don), and Denise Baughman (Brian); grandchildren, Skyler Blessing, Carter Blessing, Micah Summers, Asher Blessing, and Adaline Blessing; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2022,. The family politely encourages visitors to please consider wearing a mask. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church (7500 Navilleton Road, Floyds Knobs) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
