D.B. THOMS SR. DIES; FOUNDER OF BRUSH WORKS.
TORRINGTON — David B. Thoms, Sr., 94, of 159 New Harwinton Road, founder of Torrington Brush Works, died Tuesday in Charlotte Hungerford Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Waterbury, he had lived in Torrington since 1900. His wife, Leona Harrison Thoms died in TorringtonNovember 25, 1962.
He founded the Torrington Brush Works in 1907 and headed the business for more than 50 years. He was actively interested in his company at the time of his death.
He was a member of Center Congregational Church.
He leaves two sons, John H. Thoms of Litchfield and David B. Thoms Jr. of Winchester, Mass; a brother, Floyd L. Thoms of Litchfield; a sister, Mrs. William Patman of Northfield; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
