Elizabeth "Betty" Frances Blatt, 79 of Kansas City passed away Jan. 1, 2008, shortly after the New Year with friends and family close by. Services will be 10:00 am, Sat. Jan. 5, 2008 at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Indep. MO. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 – 8:30 pm, Friday at the chapel. Contributions are suggested to Grace Hospice.
Mrs. Blatt was born on Oct. 8, 1928 in Independence, MO to Bertha and Emmett Lewis, the 7th of 8 children. She grew up in Sugar Creek, MO and graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1947. She married Roger Allen Blatt on July 26th that same year. She raised her family in Independence, and lived her life with a strong faith in Jesus Christ. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Roger on Jan. 3, 1990, her parents, Bertha and Emmett Lewis and siblings Lawrence Lewis, Bruce Lewis, Corrine Snider, Jessie Snider, Georgia Lyman and Kayedon Lewis. She is survived by sons Stacy Blatt, Yankton, South Dakota and Russell Blatt of the home, daughter-in-law Carmen and grandson Gabriel Blatt of the home, grandson Chris Arredondo, Mayport Naval Air Station, FL and brother Byron "Bud" Lewis of Independence.
