Cecil Gerald "Jerry" Allen, 85, died March 7, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born May 22, 1936, in Argonia, to Dean D. and Florence E. (Buchanan) Allen.

Jerry graduated from high school in Japan. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. Jerry worked at North American Salt for over 43 years and had a variety of jobs before retiring as Head of Storeroom. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and was a member of HOG and IBMC. Jerry also helped start the "Toys for Tots" motorcycle event, served as Santa Claus at the Moose Club, and participated in the Legion Riders. He also enjoyed reading, traveling, and painting. Jerry was a Jack-of-all-Trades and enjoyed tinkering on cars of all kinds. He was a member of Salt City Cowboy Church.

On June 1, 1957, Jerry married Katherine A. "Kathy" Meine, in Hutchinson. They shared nearly 65 years of marriage. She survives.

Also surviving are: daughters, Jerri Zarnowski and Christine Brummer (James); grandchildren, Sarah Thompson (Bryan), Matthew Brummer, Hannah Brummer (fiancé Jacob Younger), all of Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Kira, Lea, Corbin, Ellianna, Grayson, and Kevin Thompson; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Robert Allen; granddaughter, Amanda Engle; and siblings, Ruby Frasier, Bonnie Boswell, Rex Allen, Vernon Allen, and Kenneth Allen.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2022, at Salt City Cowboy Church, 810 N. Main, South Hutchinson, with Pastor Montie McFerrin officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Children's Miracle Network or American Heart Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
