Longtime Goodland, KS resident Barbara Jean Mosbarger, 85, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the Goodland Regional Medical Center in Goodland.

Barbara was born on June 16, 1936 in Spearville, KS, the only child of James and Wilhelmina (Warfield) Gearhart. She attended school in Cimarron, KS and graduated in 1954. She then went on and attended Kansas State University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. It was there that she met her future husband Gary Mosbarger. They later were married on September 1, 1957 at the chapel on the campus of Colorado State University.

Barbara and Gary had two children. She enjoyed spending time attending all the activities that her children and grandchildren were involved with, from showing cattle and pigs in 4-H, to watching them play football, basketball and even going to wrestling tournaments.

Barbara was a very dedicated 4-H leader for Prairie Dale 4-H Club, and was also a 4-H cooking leader. She served on the Sherman County Extension Council for several years, and was a member of the Beaver Valley EHU Club. She was proud to be a farmwife; helping drive trucks, doing yard work, gardening and helping the guys move vehicles from field to field. She was also ready to serve up a hot meal when the family had called it a day. Barbara was a very special wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will truly be missed by many.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Gary and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lavaughn and John Glasco.
