Marvin Edward Bruzik, age 86, of Alexandria, MN passed away peacefully on March 7, 2022.

Marvin was born in Alexandria, the son of Ed and Agnes (Zaviska) Bruzik and grew up on the family farm in Forada, MN with his two sisters: Dona (Wagner) and Karen (Collins). After graduating from high school in Alexandria, Marvin pursued his passion for music receiving both his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Music Education. From 1957 – 1959 Marvin served two tours of duty in the United States Army, including working in underground communications at the Pentagon. He enjoyed being a member of the Army band during his service. When returning home to visit family he met the love of his life Maureen (Stoetzel) and they married on May 8, 1962. After completing his Army service, Marvin began his career in Page, ND and enjoyed spending weekends playing music in many bands. Marvin and Maureen spent the early years of his teaching career in Browerville and Barnesville before settling in Hastings, MN where the raised their family of three children: Mark, Mike and Mary. Marvin completed a 34 year teaching career and retired in 1993, returning to the Alexandria area. During his teaching career, the family looked forward to spending time making countless happy memories at the family cabin that Marvin built on Lake Ida. Marvin was an avid sportsman and loved golfing, hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was a loving and caring husband, father, proud grandpa and great grandpa.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Maureen; son, Michael; parents: Ed & Agnes; sisters: Dona & Karen.

Marvin will be deeply missed by his son, Mark (Donna) Bruzik; daughter, Mary (Joe) Steidl; grandchildren: Randy (Courtney) Bruzik, Mitch (Kate) Bruzik, Robby (Paige) Bruzik, Katie (Brandon) Johnson, Joey Steidl and Shayna Steidl; great grandchildren: Breck and Finley Bruzik, Ella and Cole Bruzik, Aiden and Cade Johnson; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022, 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 3:30 PM and a Parish Prayer Service at 4:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday, March 11, 2022, 10:00 – 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.
