Services for James F. McNish, 66, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Rumsey Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Union Cemetery, Florence, Mo.
Mr. McNish died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1993, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 18, 1926, at Pomona, the son of Sherman A. and Lucy A. Gilmore McNish.
Mr. McNish attended school in Lone Star and Richland, moved to Missouri during his teens and then moved back to Lawrence. He returned to Missouri to work in road construction and moved back to Lawrence in 1969 to work for the city of Lawrence street department. Mr. McNish retired in 1973 as a street foreman because of ill health.
His hobbies included gardening and tinkering with old vehicles.
Mr. McNish married Justine Barrett on Sept. 12, 1959, in Sedalia, Mo.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; four sons, Earl W., Timie J. and Tomie L., all of Lawrence, and Paul R., Tyler, Tex.; four daughters, Mary L. Markmann, Bullard, Tex., Linda S. McNish, Judy A. McNish and Betty J. Corel, all of Lawrence; a brother, Albert R., Sedalia, Mo; two sisters, Edna O. Rayl and Mary E. Moore, both of Lawrence; and nine grandchildren. A son, James F. McNish, died in 1962.
