Lester Elwood "Pete" Drinks

LABELLE - Lester "Pete" Elwood Drinks died on Wednesday, April 3, 2013.

Born Sept. 28, 1931 in Baltimore, Md., he was son of the late Lester Drinks and Alberta "Bea" C. Drinks.

He enlisted in the Marines and was a veteran of the Korean War.

His passion was spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed sharing stories of his youth and growing up on the shores of Popes Creek with his children.

He always had a smile on his face and made friends easily. Everybody that met him liked his easy manner, especially the children. He was very loved and will be missed.

He was also proceeded in death by his sister, Susan Drinks Winkler and David Vernon Drinks of Popes Creek, Md.

He is survived by his three children, Denise Drinks Brady of La Plata, Md., Russell "Bo" Drinks Carver of Coral Springs, Fla., and Paula Drinks Henricks of Sugar Hill, Ga.;

He was a devoted grandfather to David and Kenneth Brady, Natalie and Tyler Carver, Samantha Livsey and Shane Henricks.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, LaBelle, Fla. on April 6, 2013. The family would like to thank Hospice by the Sea for their excellent care and helpful guidance to the family. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice by the Sea, Boca Raton, Fla.
