A former West Lafayette resident, Howard Acheson, 83, of Fresno, Calif., died unexpectedly there Wednesday morning.
Mr. Acheson, a native of West Point, resided in West Lafayette for several years prior to moving to Fresno 20 years ago. Mr. Acheson and his brother, Roy, operated the old Central Top and Battery Co. in Lafayette.
In 1912 he was married to Leota Lane who survives. He was a member of the West Lafayette Masonic Lodge 742.
Surviving with the widow are two daughters, Mrs. William (Velma) Pierce of West Lafayette and Mrs. Marvin (Eleanor) Johnson of Fresno, Calif.; two brothers, Roy D. of Phoenix, Ariz., and Floyd of West Point; one sister, Mrs. Ione Banta of Winslow; and a stepsister, Mrs. Martha Thomas of Indianapolis.
