Jacob is the son of John Laton & Emma Jane (Shuler) Strole. He married Everlena D. Dudley.

Jacob Lorom Strole Sr., former owner of Strole Drug Co. and later, Strole Paint & Hardware Co., died in a Virginia Beach hospital Saturday night.
He was a 1901 graduate in pharmacy at Medical College of Virginia. He opened Strole Drug Co. at Charlotte and Granby streets in 1905. Many years later he founded Strole Paint & Hardware Co. He retired in the middle 1950s. He was a member of First Lutheran Church.
He was the husband of the late Mrs. Everlena Dudley Strole and a son of John L. and Mrs. Emma Schuler Strole.
He is survived by a son, Jacob L. Strole Jr.; a granddaughter, Mrs. B.Y. Porter; and a great-granddaughter, all of Virginia Beach.
A funeral service will be held in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Tuesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Donald F. Sause, Interim pastor of First Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
