Loa owned and operated, for a short while, a Millinery Shop with one of her sisters (Ellie Bullion Butler) in Waco, Texas, after the death of her first husband.
Sometime after 1905 and the birth of her second son, Loa, her mother and another sister (Ellie Bullion Butler) traveled in a covered wagon to the Middle Animas Valley of New Mexico and homestead a section of land. The homestead would become known as the Valley Ranch and was located in the Chiricahua Mountains, near the present day Middle Animas Valley Cemetery where Samuel Bullion, Loa's young brother, and her sister, Ellie Bullion Butler Wright are buried and for which the family donated the land.
Loa married Marvin Myrt Maloney in 1909 in Hachita, County of Grant, Territory of New Mexico. Myrt had also homesteaded land in the Animas Valley. His homestead would become known as the Mountain Ranch and was located in the Dragoon Mountains. Loa and Myrt had two daughters, Lillian Chloe and Myrtie Maire.
Loa passed away April 2, 1973 in Kingman, Mohave Co., Arizona, a few months short of her 100th birthday. Note: Loa changed her year of birth from time to time. The family believes the actual year of her birth was 1874 and not 1876 as listed on her tombstone.
