Mrs. Dovie Helen Doan Allen, age 71, of Elizabethtown, KY returned to her Heavenly Father on July 29, 2017. Mrs. Allen was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.
Among those that preceded her in death include her parents, John Doan and Thelma Dodson Campbell; husband, David Allen; brother, David Doan; and sisters, Ann Thompson, Eva Sulzer and Beatrice Brumback. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, John Allen (Chasity Payton), Teresa Dunn (James Bowling), Thelma Richardson, Charlene Zavala, Denise Boone, Brian Allen and Shawn Allen; 49 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Earline McMahan, Nancy Martinez and John Doan.
Funeral service will be conducted at 5 pm on Sunday, August 6, 2017 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Lambert Cemetery in Edmonson County, KY on Monday at 10 am EST. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 3:30 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
