"MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Ethel Katherine Adams, 69, died Saturday at a local rest home.

Mrs. Adams was born at Parnell, Mo., and had spent the last 23 years in Maryville. She had been employed at Northwest Missouri State University before retiring, and was a member of the Country Side Christian Church, Maryville.

Surviving are one son, Wilbur Adams of Maryville; one daughter, Roberta Drain of Springfield, Mo.; four stepsons, Melvin Adams of Wilcox, Mo., Alvie Adams and Curtis Adams, both of Independence, Mo., and Charles Adams of Clarinda, Iowa; one step-daughter, Margie Branson of Independence; five half-brothers, Hallie Hughes and Noble Hughes, both of Scottsbluff, Neb., Dean Hughes of Springfield, Sheldon Jones of Junction City, Ore., and Benjamin Jones, address unknown; four half-sisters, Ruth Saey of Lamar, Mo., Mirilla Hensen of Eden, Idaho, Roberta Duzic of Mountain Home, Ark., and Neva Barger of Washington; five grandchildren, 18 step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ravenwood, Mo." St Joseph Gazette, December 12, 1983
