LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Terry Gene Skidmore, age 73, of 1785 Cameron Road in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021, in the Coral Park Baptist Church Cemetery, 295 Springs East Road in Lincolnton, with Rev. Jeff Rhodes officiating. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow in the sanctuary of the church. The body will lie in state from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday at Warlick Funeral Home. The family will not be present during this time.

Mr. Skidmore was born November 28, 1947, in Gaston County, to the late Judson Nolan Skidmore and Helen Reid Skidmore. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Skidmore, and a sister, Starlene Skidmore. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, then worked as a heating and air installer.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Dianne Drye Skidmore of the home; two sons, Terry Skidmore (Tina) of Mount Holly, and Michael Skidmore (Jennifer) of Dallas; daughter, Janet Canipe (Trent) of Lincolnton; nine grandchildren, Victoria Barber (Scotty), Kayla Pressley (Adam), Jake, Katelyn, Justin (Alexis), Allison, Houston, Mason (Jenn), and Justin (Cris); three great-grandchildren, Maggie, Jonah, and Adam; two brothers, James Skidmore of Gastonia, and Dwight Skidmore of Bessemer City; and a sister, Janice Carpenter of Dallas.
