She was born May 4, 1931, in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Benjamin Franklin Cobler and Minnie Kathleen Merriman Cobler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Claude Oscar Gardner; and brother, John Marshall.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Phyllis Taylor; son, Jessie Gardner, Sr.; sister, Betty Tester (Arnold); grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor Cooke and Justin Taylor; special niece, Tina (Rick), special great-nieces, Sara Boyd and Brooke Wade (Jeff); special nephews, Duke Dyckman (Carol) and David Dyckman (Courtney); and several special great-great nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastors Billy Hicks and Craig Hicks officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private. Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
