Marti Jean Sigsbee, 72, of Fairfax, Iowa, formerly of Columbia, Missouri, died Sunday, February 27, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was born February 2, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Georgie (Shepherd) and Charles D. Sigsbee III. After graduating from Hickman High School in Columbia, Missouri, Marti went on to attend the University of Missouri and Saint Louis University, earning her master's degree in nursing. She served in the United States Army and was a nurse at Walter Reed Army Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, and University Hospital and Clinics, Columbia, Missouri. Survivors include her daughter, Heather (Jason) Watts of Fairfax, Iowa, grandson Ian Watts of Fairfax, sisters Cheryl Sigsbee of Chicago, Illinois, Brenda Sigsbee of Joplin, Missouri, and Karen "Kay" (Sigsbee) Parrott of Potosi, Missouri, and multiple nieces and nephews.
