Margaret Elizabeth Atkisson

Margaret Elizabeth Atkisson, age 77 of Springfield, Mo passed away May 14th, 2011 in her home. Margaret was born June 29th, 1934 to her parents Noah and Ruth Grogan. She was married to Aaron Atkisson Aug. 16th, 1958 in Houston, Mo. Margaret attended Cabool High School in Cabool, Mo. She continued her education while raising her family. She owned Atkisson and Assoc. Accounting Firm in Springfield for 20 years; which was sold in 1990 due to her failing health. She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed painting, ballroom dancing, water skiing, she was active in Beaux Bells, and Starlight Debonaire , Top Of The Town Dance Club. She was past pres. of A.S.W.A and S.M.M.A art group, and was a long time member of Kings Way United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband Aaron of 54 years; one son Jeffery Atkisson, San Antonio, TX; three grandchildren, Matthew Rhoades, Lauren and Evan Atkisson; three sisters Barbara Fish and husband Bill, Mildred Keene and husband Richard, Carol Eaton and husband Emory; one brother, Ronnie Grogan and wife Debby; several nieces and nephews, cousins, a host of friends, and a special companion, her faithful poodle Tiffany. She is predeceased by her parents and one son, Steven.
